Who are we?

The Service régional d'admission au collégial de Québec (SRACQ) was established in 1971 in response to a request from four Québec City colleges: Limoilou, François-Xavier-Garneau, Sainte-Foy and Lévis-Lauzon. These colleges understood that the fact that students submitted multiple applications for admission did nothing to simplify the management of the available places. An admission rounds system was established, which considerably increased the number of students admitted.

Thereafter, other colleges joined SRACQ :

• Institut agro-alimentaire in 1977
• Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup in 1977
• Cégep de Thetford in 1978
• Cégep de Beauce-Appalaches in 1990
• Cégep de Matane in 1998
• Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles in 2001
• Cégep de Rimouski and the Institut maritime du Québec in 2004
• Cégep de Baie-Comeau in 2004
• Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles – English sector in winter 2005
• Cégep de Sept-Îles in January 2006
• Cégep de Victoriaville in August 2007
• Ecole nationale du meuble et de l'ébénisterie (Pavillon Victoriaville and Pavillon Montréal) in August) en août 2007

By organising admission services in this way, we were also able to establish adequate and more economical shared services for the entire student population and member colleges.
